Local reserves set for upgrades across the City

23 October 2026
Over the coming year, a range of upgrades will be delivered at local reserves across the City, creating greener, more welcoming spaces for the community.
Tailored to the needs of each reserve, the improvements may include:
- Concrete pedestrian paths to provide safer, more accessible entry points and walkways
- Tree planting to increase canopy cover, shade and habitat
- Nature play features such as logs, rocks and balancing elements
- Additional seating and picnic settings for comfort and relaxation
- Mulching and planting to improve soil health and revitalise areas of poor-performing turf
- Sustainable landscaping that reduces water use while maintaining attractive green spaces.
The program continues the City's investment in local parks that support green, healthy and connected communities.
Reserves included in the 2026/27 Local Reserve Upgrade Program:
- Balcatta: Beryl Collier Wilcock Reserve
- Balga: Frant Wadhurst Reserve, Fieldgate Reserve
- Dianella: April Howes Reserve, Golding Read Reserve, Des Hoffman Reserve, Waverly Pola Reserve
