Halfway point reached for underground power in Doubleview
The underground power project in Doubleview has reached 50 per cent completion, putting it on track for completion in early 2027.
Delivered by Western Power in partnership with the City of Stirling, the switch to underground power will benefit 2,619 residents and businesses across the suburb once finished.
Power poles are now being removed and streetlights installed to be energised in the future. The project will see 615 poles and 24km of overhead powerline removed and 428 new streetlights and 51km of underground cable installed.
To keep our community and workers safe, please follows directions from traffic management and take care on the roads while these works are undertaken.
Some temporary reinstatement may be required to keep areas safe and accessible or if specialist equipment is required, but all areas will be restored to their original condition as soon as possible. Full reinstatement will be achieved once all construction works are completed.
Once complete, underground power will offer improved reliability and safety, while increasing power supply capacity, improving property values, street appeal and allowing the tree canopy to flourish.
