Elizabeth Re

Councillor Re was born in Mount Lawley and has lived in the much-loved suburb of Woodlands for most of her life. She has championed new footpaths, park activities, alternative waste management recycling initiatives, improved public transport, and upgrades to sporting and community buildings.

Cr Re has worked for over 30 years for state and local governments in sustainability and environmental and public health. She was honoured as a Fellow of Environmental Health Australia for her services in environmental public health and the promotion of women in the workforce. Cr Re was the first woman appointed as Principal Health and Building Inspector in Western Australian local government. Her advocacy for women and workplace diversity was recognised in 2010, when she received the Australian Ambassador for Women award for the Year of Women in Local Government. She believes community consultation and education are paramount to delivering quality services for ratepayers and families.

In 2025, Cr Re was awarded the Australian Local Government Women’s Association WA Evelyn Parker Women of Excellence Award, recognising her dedication and leadership in support of women and her contributions to representing the diverse needs of her community.
