As volunteer expectations change, organisations need fresh and flexible ways to attract and engage people who want to make a difference. This practical session explores the power of micro volunteering: bite sized, meaningful volunteering opportunities and how to break down traditional barriers to participation. The workshop will be an interactive session and equip participants with practical information and skills.

Topics include:

  • Understanding what micro volunteering is and why it matters Identifying opportunities within your Volunteer Involving Organisation, club or group for flexible volunteering Strategies to attract new and diverse volunteers
  • Turning micro volunteers into long-term supporters and advocates
  • Practical tools to expand and strengthen your volunteer base

Who should attend

Community groups, sporting clubs, volunteer organisations and not-for-profits who use volunteers or wish to introduce the use volunteers. Committees members and anyone responsible for volunteer recruitment, retention, coordination or community engagement. Individual residents or those from local community groups, clubs and not-for-profit groups may register.
