Sunset Coast Marketing: What’s next for 2026

22 January 2026

The Cities of Wanneroo, Joondalup and Stirling, together with Destination Perth, are shaping the Sunset Coast into one of WA’s most recognisable visitor destinations.

For more than a decade, the Cities of Wanneroo, Joondalup and Stirling have worked together to position the Sunset Coast as one of Western Australia’s most iconic visitor destinations. In partnership with Destination Perth, this long-standing collaboration continues to deliver targeted destination marketing that boosts brand awareness, showcases local businesses, and attracts visitors to our coastline.

As we look ahead to 2026, the Sunset Coast Alliance is ramping up activity with a coordinated program designed to support local operators, grow visitation, and build a stronger, more recognisable regional brand.

What we delivered in 2025

Over the past year, the Sunset Coast Alliance focused on strengthening the region’s visibility through refreshed imagery, improved digital content and targeted campaigns. New photography was captured across the Sunset Coast, showcasing trails, cool weather experiences, fireside dining and a series of sunsets from key vantage points. These assets are now being used across Destination Perth channels and upcoming campaigns.

Work is also underway to enhance the Sunset Coast section on the Destination Perth website, including a full SEO and content review, updated product listings and clearer navigation to help visitors find local operators more easily. To complement this, premium advertising placements have been secured on the Destination Perth website throughout the year to consistently drive traffic to Sunset Coast pages.

Seasonal and themed campaigns continued to generate strong engagement, including a “Stay, Play, Eat” competition, a summer Instagram video series, interactive seasonal blogs, an Autumn school holidays promotion and a winter focused eDM. Each activity has provided additional opportunities for businesses to be featured.

Alongside digital campaigns, the region has been prominently represented in key visitor publications. This includes a full page advertisement and multiple placements in the Hello Perth guide and Sunset Coast map. The Alliance has also secured the back cover of the 2026 Perth Holiday Planner, offering prime year round exposure to visitors planning their WA trip.

What’s ahead for 2026

The Sunset Coast Alliance will continue investing in high‑impact destination marketing in partnership with Destination Perth, with a focus on consistent brand storytelling, expanded digital content and new opportunities for local businesses to participate in future campaigns, competitions and familiarisation activities.

A key focus for 2026 will be the launch of the Stories of the Sunset Coast trail, a major collaborative project designed to strengthen the region’s identity and encourage deeper visitor engagement. The trail will highlight cultural, natural and historic points of interest across the three cities, supported by a coordinated marketing rollout, new digital content and on‑ground signage. This initiative will provide fresh storytelling opportunities for local businesses and create a new platform for promoting experiences along the coastline throughout the year.

Together, we look forward to another strong year of promoting the Sunset Coast and supporting local businesses across the region.
