Reverie by Tesse Dorotich joins Joondanna Reserve

13 November 2025

New mural alert – Reverie by local artist Tessa Dorotich has joined City of Stirling’s public art collection.

Located on the new public toilet at Joondanna Reserve, this vibrant mural draws inspiration from Tessa’s own childhood growing up in suburbia.

The artwork captures the magic of twilight, when the sun dips low and imagination takes flight.

Children play among giant, fantastical native flora, evoking a dreamlike sense of wonder and nostalgia.

Reverie invites us to see our neighbourhood parks not just as places of play, but as spaces of memory, imagination and connection.

The mural was part of an overall $1.25 million upgrade to Joondanna Reserve delivered by the City of Stirling in partnership with the Australian Government and the community over the past 18 months.

The upgrades include a new playground co-designed with students from Tuart Hill Primary School, a small soccer goal, new picnic facilities, park furniture, footpath connections, lighting, bike racks, toilets, formalised parking and signage.

The Australian Government contributed $500,000 to the project, with $750,000 coming from the City.
