"Spirit": MetSO-Karrinyup's March Concert

At the heart of this program is Lalo’s Symphonie Espagnole, featuring world renowned violinist Yana Burova who injects both bold intensity and expressive lyricism to this showpiece. Blending the sweep of a full symphonic work with the flair of a violin concerto, this is a masterpiece bursting with fiery rhythms, soaring melodies and vibrant spirit.

In addition, Rossini’s Semiramide Overture is a sparkling curtain-raiser packed with drama and elegance. From mysterious opening to breathless finale, this is music that sets fire to the stage.

Plus the radiant optimism of Schumann’s Symphony No. 1 “Spring”, a celebration of hope, inspiration and new beginnings! All under the baton of MetSO Distinguished Conductor Bruce Herriman, and MetSO’s On the Podium Conductor Stuart Rhine-Davis.

All concerts in our 2026 main series are held in the Taryn Fiebig Concert Hall, Churchlands Senior High School; one of WA’s finest live performance venues. This family friendly concert is suitable for all ages and has good disability access.
