The City of Stirling, in partnership with Stirling Natural Environment Coastcare, invites you to join us for a Community Conservation Day along our coastline.
This hands‑on event brings community members together to care for our coastal environment while learning more about local conservation efforts.
By taking part, you can:
- Meet your neighbours and build a strong sense of community Improve biodiversity and the conservation value of natural areas
- Help stabilise coastal dunes and increase their resilience to erosion
- Learn more about conservation and future volunteering opportunities
- The day will involve planting a variety of important native species throughout the coastal dune system.
Planting will be carried out by community members, guided by City staff and experienced conservation volunteers. No prior experience is required.
What to bring
Please bring gardening gloves, a water bottle and wear closed‑in shoes and weather‑appropriate clothing (long pants, plus either a broad‑brim hat and sunscreen or raincoat and pants).
Protective eyewear is recommended.
Participants will be asked to register on arrival and attend a short induction before activities begin.
This is a family‑friendly event, however, children must be supervised at all times as we will be working near the ocean.
A complimentary lunch will be provided after the event, along with small thank‑you tokens to show our appreciation for your efforts.
Timing:
- 8.45am - Registration
- 9.00am – 9.30am - Induction, welcome and planting demo
- 9.30am -11.30am - Planting
- 11.30am – 12.00 noon - Lunch break and meeting your fellow community
- 12.00 noon - Event close.
