This page provides the full terms and conditions of entry for City run competitions. 

eRates survey

  • All survey responses must be received by 5.00pm Western Standard Time on 17 June, 2022.
  • The winner will be randomly selected and will be contacted via the email address provided
  • There is 1 x $100 Karrinyup Shopping Centre gift card to be won
  • Winners must be willing to collect the prize from the City of Stirling Administration Centre, 25 Cedric Street, Stirling
  • In the event that a winner is unable to be contacted or to accept their prize, a new winner will be drawn
  • One entry, per person
  • The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and is not redeemable for cash or other prizes
  • City of Stirling employees are ineligible to enter.

Cover Photo Competition

  1. Entry is made by commenting on the City of Stirling Facebook post by 11.59pm Tuesday 15 May
  2. All photos must be provided in landscape orientation
  3. The winner will be chosen by the City’s Customer and Communications Team
  4. The winning photo for Winter | Makuru, Djilba will be displayed throughout June, July and August
  5. The photographer will be credited
  6. If a winner is unable to provide their photo to the City, a new winner will be drawn
  7. The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and is not redeemable for cash or other prizes.

Neighbourhood Events Series - Feedback Survey Competition

  1. Competition ends on Wednesday, 15 June at 11.59pm. Entries received outside this time will not be considered
  2. This competition is open to patrons that have attended a Neighbourhood Event and completed the relevant survey.
  3. To enter the competition, entrants must reply complete the feedback survey relevant to the City’s neighbourhood event they attended.
  4. One entry per person.
  5. The winner will be randomly selected and will be contacted via the email address provided.
  6. The winner will be drawn on Monday 20 June and will receive a $500 voucher for one of the local businesses located with in the City of Stirling that they have selected.
  7. The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and is not redeemable for cash or other prizes.

WA Tree Festival Competitions - Tree Tales

To get ready for this year’s Tree Festival we ‘wood’ like to hear about your local trees! Send us a short video about what your local tree might be thinking or why you love trees to win one of five great prizes. 

Here’s what you need to do: 

  • Find your favourite tree in a garden, local park or street 
  • Make a short video (up to one minute) about what your tree might be thinking or why you love your local tree 
  • Submit your entry by posting it on Instagram and using the hashtag #Watreefestival by Monday 9 May 2022 
  • The top five entries – based on creativity and effort – will each win a $100 voucher (we recommend spending it at your local nursery!).

Terms and conditions

WA Tree Festival Competitions - Tree Tally

Plant a tree in your garden (or a friend's garden), let us know so we can add you to the tally, and you will go into the running to win a $500 voucher to the Australian Native Nursery.

Terms and conditions

  1. Entry to the Competition is open to all Western Australian residents
  2. One entry is permitted for each tree planted
  3. There is one $500 voucher for the Australian Native Nursery to be won
  4. Winning entries will be contacted via Instagram on 13 May 2022
  5. In the event a winner is unable to accept their prize, a new winner will be drawn
  6. The winner will be selected via random draw
  7. Winners must provide an address to enable the prize to be posted to them
  8.  Winning entries will be shared on social media #Watreefestival.

WA Tree Festival Competitions - Botanical Drawings

Are you a budding artist and inspired by the trees in your area? Draw your favourite tree and share it with us to go into the running to win one of five great prizes. 

Here’s what you need to do

  • Draw your favourite tree in a garden, local park or street 
  • Submit your entry by posting it on Instagram, tagging #Watreefestival by Monday 9 May   2022. 
  • There are two categories, be sure to let us know if you are under 16 or over 16 in your comment. 
  • The top five entries based on creativity and effort – will each win a $100 voucher (we recommend spending it at your local nursery). Please note two winners will be under 16 and two over 16.

  2. As part of this competition, there are two categories:
    • Category 1: ages 16 and above
    • Category 2:  ages under 16.

Sustainable Verge Awards 2022

The Sustainable Verge Awards aims to acknowledge community contributions to the establishment of nature strips throughout our streetscapes. These nature strips (verges) provide both ecological and social benefits related to key goals of our Waterwise Council endorsement, Urban Forest Plan, Local Biodiversity Strategy and Strategic Community Plan.

Award categories

  1. Residential - Waterwise Nature Strip (Winner $500 & Runner-up $250) - Existing verge incorporates elements to reduce water consumption and encourage stormwater infiltration, such as: waterwise plants, use of recycled water, application of mulch, or efficient (drip style) irrigation systems.
  2. Residential - Biodiverse Nature Strip (Winner $500 & Runner-up $250) - Existing verge incorporates elements to improve biodiversity such as a diverse range of local native plant species and an increase in habitat and food provision for native wildlife.
  3. Business/Organisation – Sustainable Nature Strip (Winner $500 & Runner-up $250) - Existing verge includes:
    • Waterwise elements to reduce water consumption and encourage stormwater infiltration.
    • Elements to improve biodiversity (increase local native plant species, and habitat and food for native wildlife).
    • Innovation, such as conversion to wheel strip parking which allows use of the space for biodiversity as well as by customers.

Prizes

Winners of each category will receive a $500 prize pack and runners-up in each category will receive a $250 prize pack. Winners will be notified by phone, email or social media in May 2022. Winners will also be promoted on the City’s Facebook page and website (photograph of verge will be included).

  • 3 Winners: $100 voucher – WA Wildflower Society Nursery, Water Smart Flow Meter $350 voucher – Green Life Soil Co
  • 3 Runners up: $50 voucher – Water Smart Flow Meter, $150 voucher – Green Life Soil Co, $50 voucher – WA Wildflower Society Nursery

Terms and Conditions

1. Entry is open to City of Stirling

  • residents,
  • businesses
  • organisations

by self-entry or nomination of another.

Residents who have received the City’s Waterwise Verge Rebate program rebate are not eligible. City of Stirling employees and Councillors are not eligible to enter the competition.

2. Entered verges must be:

  • Adjacent to the applicant’s property and installed by the applicant (or nominated verges must be for the verge adjacent to the nominee and installed by the nominee)
  • Compliant with the City’s Verge Treatment Policy, Verge Treatment Guidelines and Thoroughfares and Public Places Local Law 2009.
  • Located in the City of Stirling.

3. Entries/nominations are to be submitted by COB 31 May 2022, via

  • Facebook comment on City of Stirling’s Sustainable Verge Awards post,
    including: category applying for, a description (<50 words) and a photograph.

or

  • Email to sustainability@stirling.wa.gov.au including: the subject line ‘Sustainable Verge Awards’, category applying for, a description (<50 words) and a photograph.

4. Prizes:

  • Winners ($500 prize pack each): Water smart flow meter, $350 Green Life Soil Co voucher and a $100 WA Wildflower Society Nursery voucher. Prizes may be subject to change before the competition closes if unforeseen circumstances arise.
  • Runners Up ($250 prize pack each): Water smart flow meter, $150 Green Life Soil Co voucher and a $50 WA Wildflower Society Nursery voucher. Prizes may be subject to change before the competition closes if unforeseen circumstances arise.
  • Entries/nominations are only eligible to win one award category.
  • Winners will be announced in May and winners must collect their prize from the City’s Administration Building (25 Cedric Street, Stirling).
  • If a winner is unable to accept or claim the prize, a new winner will be drawn.
  • The prizes are non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and are not redeemable for cash or other prizes.

5. Judging:

The winner will be judged by the City’s Sustainability team and approved by Manager of Parks & Sustainability.

6. Winning entries

Winning entries will be shared on the City’s social media. Photographs from all entries/nominations may be used by the City in the future for waterwise promotions/campaigns.

Customer portal survey competition

  1. Competition ends on Friday, 29 April, 2022 at 11.59pm. Entries received outside this time will not be considered
  2. The winners will be randomly selected and will be contacted via the email address provided on the survey
  3. There is 1 x $500 Karrinyup Shopping Centre voucher and 2 x $250 Karrinyup Shopping Centre vouchers to be won
  4. To enter the competition, entrants must complete the City of Stirling Customer Portal survey
  5. One entry per person
  6. The winner will be randomly selected and will be contacted via the email address provided
  7. City of Stirling employees and ineligible to enter
  8. The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and is not redeemable for cash or other prizes
  9. Prizes will only be available for collection at the City's Administration Centre building, located at 25 Cedric Street Stirling
  10. In the event a winner is unable to accept their prize, a new winner will be drawn.

No More Blank Walls - Feedback Survey Competition

  1. Competition ends on Wednesday, 30 April at 11.59pm. Entries received outside this time will not be considered
  2. This competition is open to patrons that have attended the No More Blank Walls Street Art Festival and completed the relevant survey
  3. To enter the competition, entrants must complete the City’s feedback survey relevant to the No More Blank Walls Festival
  4. One entry per person
  5. The winner will be randomly selected and will be contacted via the email address provided
  6. The five winners will be drawn on Monday 16 May and will receive a $100 voucher for one of the local businesses located with in the City of Stirling that they have selected
  7. The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and is not redeemable for cash or other prizes.

Stirling Scene social media competition

  1. Competition ends on Friday, 10 June, 2022 at 11.59pm. Entries received outside this time will not be considered
  2. To enter the competition, you must complete all steps:
    1. Subscribe to the City of Stirling Scene newsletter
    2. Follow the City's Instagram page 
    3. Tag at least one person in the social media post outlining the competition
  3. The winners will be randomly selected and will be contacted via the Facebook post
  4. There is 1 x $500 Karrinyup Shopping Centre voucher voucher to be won
  5. One entry per person
  6. City of Stirling employees and ineligible to enter
  7. The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and is not redeemable for cash or other prizes
  8. The prize will only be available for collection at the City's Administration Centre building, located at 25 Cedric Street Stirling
  9. In the event a winner is unable to accept their prize or does not respond, a new winner will be drawn.
