Westminster Community Garden permanently closed
The Westminster Community Garden Committee and the City of Stirling have made the joint and difficult decision to close the garden.
Following ongoing discussions, this decision reflects a long history of low community participation and the increasing management demands placed on a small group of volunteers.
The City sincerely thanks the Lions Club of Stirling and the committee for their long-standing commitment to managing the garden and acknowledges the residents who have contributed to helping over the years.
Next steps
The City is now undertaking maintenance works to ensure this area is safe for everyone. These works include removing existing garden beds, loose metal, shade cloths and weeds.
In the coming months, the City will work with the community to explore how this space can be used in the future.
