Spotlight on Stirling | Harry & Gretel

Harry & Gretel is a Doubleview boutique that radiates colour, fun, and a youthful spirit. Founded in 2004 in Leederville and relocated to Doubleview a decade ago, this vibrant store has been under the ownership of Brooke Finning since 2023.
With a background in retail and a desire to focus on something for herself, Brooke saw the perfect opportunity in Harry & Gretel, aligning her experience with the boutique's established charm.
Brooke's journey with Harry & Gretel began with her extensive experience in retail and a pivotal moment in her personal life. Seeking a venture that allowed her to channel her passion and expertise, she purchased the boutique, bringing a fresh perspective and a renewed energy to the store.
Already established in the City of Stirling, Harry & Gretel underwent a refresh to reflect a more coastal and youthful aesthetic. The boutique's proximity to the beach and the area's vibrant, young atmosphere made it an ideal location. Brooke's goal was to create a space that was accessible to everyone, regardless of budget or age, and she succeeded in making Harry & Gretel a welcoming destination for all.
The boutique boasts a meticulously curated range of brands, offering a unique shopping experience. Convenience is key, with a coffee shop next door and the boutique open seven days a week. The team, all locals who understand the community and its fashion needs, bring a personal touch to the shopping experience. Their passion for fashion and dedication to customer service create a warm and inviting atmosphere that keeps customers coming back.
To overcome the boutique’s tucked-away location, Brooke collaborates with nearby stores like Folk & Merchant for joint advertising efforts. This collaboration makes the area more appealing, offering a one-stop destination for shopping, coffee, and more. Additionally, paid social media campaigns have been instrumental in increasing visibility and attracting new customers.
Brooke's advice to other local businesses is simple: love what you do. She emphasises the importance of enjoying your work and being passionate about your business. Small business ownership can be tough, but happiness and passion are contagious, and they lead to success. When customers see your enthusiasm, they are more likely to support and engage with your business.
Harry & Gretel is more than just a boutique; it's a testament to the power of passion, community, and a love for fashion. Brooke Finning's story is an inspiring example of how aligning personal values with business goals can create a thriving and beloved local business.
