Inviting community feedback on proposed parking restrictions for Kyarra Street, Innaloo
The City is seeking feedback from residents on a proposal to restrict parking along sections of Kyarra Street, Innaloo, by installing No Stopping signage.
Residents have raised concerns about parked vehicles restricting access along the roadway. As Kyarra Street is a local access road less than six metres wide, parking can only be legally accommodated on one side of the road at a time.
The City’s preference is for parking to be managed informally by the community, with people able to park on either side of the road as long as they do not cause an obstruction by parking opposite another vehicle.
To help address the concerns raised, the City is considering staggered No Stopping line markings to discourage vehicles from parking opposite each other and to improve vehicle movement and enhance safety for all road users.
Parking any part of a vehicle on a footpath is prohibited and parking on verge without the consent of the adjacent property owner or occupier is not permitted. The City’s Community Safety team can be contacted if you observe illegal parking.
Responses received will help inform the decision-making process, and residents who provide feedback will be kept informed of the outcome.
