Piccolo Exhibition shows great art can come in small packages

The Piccolo Exhibition at Inglewood Arts Hub is proving that small things can have a big impact.
Named for the Italian word for small, the exhibition runs until Saturday 15 August and features 163 works in a range of mediums on 20cm square canvases.
Presented anonymously, the works were submitted by a mix of well-known established and emerging artists as well as local primary school children and hobbyists, ranging from 7 to 88 years.
The brainchild of Inglewood artist Louise Wells, the Piccolo Exhibition is a new format for Inglewood Arts Hub, but its popularity could see it being a staple in the gallery’s exhibition calendar.
All the works are for sale at a standard price of $150 and more than 40 have been sold since the exhibition opened.
Dan Bull, Member for Maylands, and Inglewood Ward Councillor Damien Giudici attended the opening and awarded prizes for their favourite artworks.
