Please be advised the City is not the decision-maker for this application and the application will instead be determined by the Metro Inner Development Assessment Panel (DAP). The City’s role is to provide a recommendation to the DAP through a Responsible Authority Report. As part of preparing the City’s Responsible Authority Report to the DAP, the City is seeking your comments on the proposal. Any comments will be included within the Responsible Authority Report to ensure that the community’s views have the opportunity to form part of the DAP’s consideration of the proposal. Information regarding the DAP process can be found on the DAP website.

summary of the proposed Child Care Premises development is provided below:

  • Partial demolition of existing vacant single-storey building commercial building
  • The construction of a two-storey Child Care Premises with a total floor area of 714m², designed to accommodate 13 staff members and up to 72 children, including:
    • Undercover parking, office, kitchen, storeroom, meeting room, cot room, foyer/reception area, staff room, and facilities, and laundry
    • Six designated activity rooms
    • A total of 506 m² of external outdoor play area
  • Operating hours between 6.30am-7pm, Monday to Friday
  • Vehicle ingress and egress via Ingleton Lane
  • Provision of 22-at grade car parking bays including one ACROD bay
  • Provision for four bicycle bays
  • Pedestrian access is proposed via Ingleton Lane and Beaufort Street
  • Associated landscaping and signage.
