What is the purpose of Scheme Amendment No.126?
Scheme Amendment No.126 proposes a change of zoning to Lot 66, House Number 220, Balcatta Road, Balcatta to include 'Additional Use (Drive Through Fast Food Outlet)’.
Why is Scheme Amendment No.126 being considered?
The City received the application for a Scheme Amendment on 26 April 2023.
As per the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015, the City must assess and make the application available for public comment, before being forwarded to the Planning Minister for determination.
Who can submit a Scheme Amendment?
A Scheme Amendment can be submitted by, or on behalf of a landowner. The City can also propose a Scheme Amendment.
Why is an Additional Use proposed?
Council decided at the 30 May 2023 Council meeting that the ‘Drive Through Fast Food Outlet’ be a Discretionary land use on the site.
What does the Additional Use allow?
Proposed Additional Use A95 allows for Drive Through Fast Food outlet to be contemplated on the site.
The City is keen to hear the views of all residents and other stakeholders on the proposal.
When Council considers the comments received, it must only consider the planning merits of the comments made. The City asks that comments be limited to planning matters or impacts of the proposal.
