Local Convos

Get involved
The City of Stirling Local Convos series is designed to support the community in getting together to chat about local needs, deepen connection and identify local priorities.

Get involved in shaping what it means to be 'a local'

The City has recently reviewed our community engagement to provide an increased focus on two-way conversations that listen and respond with a local focus.  The new Locally-led approach supports a greater understanding of what is important locally and tapping into local knowledge on matters of strategic importance.

Community engagement in this way helps drive deeper connection, participation, and engagement at a local level to shape service delivery and achieve our shared priorities.

Our new Local Convos sessions are designed to support the community in getting together to chat about local needs, deepen connection and identify local priorities.

To help us listen and respond with a local focus at the conversations, we invite the community to cast their vote on our  suburb profiles about what local issue they would like to talk about further.

All information on when suburb Local Convos are taking place will be available on this page.

Once the conversation has taken place the local priorities for each suburb will be posted to suburb profiles.

If you're keen to work together on hosting Local Convos in your suburb please contact one of the City’s Local Engagement Officers on (08) 9205 8555 or email getinvolved@stirling.wa.gov.au to find out more.

Upcoming Local Convos

Innaloo

The City recently hosted a series of drop-in sessions in Innaloo to chat about local needs, deepen connection and identify local priorities.

We heard from 1,007 Innaloo residents about what local issues are important, including 214 ideas about how to improve the local area. Locals describe Innaloo as a convenient and friendly place to live with a 67 per cent average sense of belonging.

The top four local issues discovered were crime prevention, roads and traffic management, community wellbeing and parking. To ensure the City listen and responds with a local focus, we’re hosting three Local Convos in April to refine the community suggestions we have heard about each local issue.
