Town Planning Scheme Amendment
Local Planning Scheme No.3:- Local Planning Policy 6.14 - Footpath Activation and Trading
At its meeting on 26 March 2019, Council considered a new draft Local Planning Policy called ‘Footpath Trading and Activation’ and resolved to advertise the Policy for public comment. The aim of this draft Policy is to create more vibrant, interesting, liveable and walkable commercial centres by making it easier for place activation activities to happen.
The draft Policy includes the following key elements:
- Place activation activities (such as street trading and alfresco dining) will not need development (planning) approval if they meet certain requirements
- Identifying where place activation activities can be carried out on footpath
- Providing clarification on what items are permitted on footpaths.
Where can I find more information about the draft policy?
The draft Policy documentation provides further explanation of what the City is proposing, which is located in the document library.
Alternatively, a copy is available for viewing during business hours (8.30am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday) at the City of Stirling Main Administration Building located at 25 Cedric Street, Stirling.
