Dianella BMX and Mountain Bike Facility
The City’s endorsed Skate and BMX identified the need to consider dirt mountain bike and BMX opportunities at Dianella Regional Open Space. In 2018 and 2020 the City of Stirling engaged the community to gain their views about the proposed location and designs.
Stage one and two opened in late 2021. The pump track, skills track and associated infrastructure including the shelter, drinking fountains and bike racks are already well utilised by the community. In February 2023, Council allocated funding to deliver Stage 3 of the BMX/Mountain Bike facility. This includes a series of beginner, intermediate and advanced jump lines and spectator viewing facilities. Updated designs have been completed and these are now available and provide the community with more detail regarding the jump lines design. Construction is anticipated to be completed by mid-December 2023.
The updated concept designs and further project information can be accessed in useful documents section below. The City thanks the Community for their involvement and feedback provided as part of this project.

What is included as part of Stage 3?
Stage 3 includes a series of beginner, intermediate and advanced jump lines, and spectator viewing facilities. Check out the updated design in the useful documents below.
Where will the jumps be located?
The jump lines are located to the east of the current pump track. The indicative location is shown on the updated design.
What consultation has occurred?
The City has engaged with the Community in both 2018 and 2020 to gain their views about the proposed location and designs. The community identified that having jump lines that catered for a diverse range of abilities was important. Updated designs have been developed for the jump lines and they provide more information regarding what is being constructed.
Information has been provided to local residents, facility users and stakeholders to keep them informed.
What materials will be used for the jumps?
To complement the other facilities on site, the jump lines will consist of compacted limestone and timber ramps.
Will the pump track and skills trail be available during construction?
The construction of the jump lines will involve heavy machinery and considerable earthworks. To ensure the safety of the contractors and public, the BMX facility will be closed periodically during construction. The City will ensure that we keep facility users, residents and reserve users updated on the proposed program of works ahead of the commencement of construction.
