Cedric Street temporary ramps update

17 October 2022

The Stephenson Avenue Extension will provide a new connection from Scarborough Beach Road to Cedric Street, including a new grade-separated interchange with the Mitchell Freeway to replace the existing Cedric Street interchange, and local road links to Ellen Stirling Boulevard.

In early September, the City of Stirling provided advanced notice of major changes to the Cedric Street Freeway interchange. The temporary Mitchell Freeway on and off-ramps for the Cedric Street interchange are almost complete, and are expected to open on these dates:

  • Temporary northbound off-ramp: 6.00am Tuesday 18 October 2022 (for approx. 15 months)
    • New access to the off-ramp will be built 200m north of the current Mitchell Freeway northbound off-ramp
    • The intersection at Cedric Street remains unchanged
    • Route marked in yellow in the map below.

  • Temporary southbound off-ramp: 6.00am Thursday 20 October 2022 (for approx. 9 months)
    • Use the current Cedric Street off-ramp (after Karrinyup Road)
    • Follow the off-ramp around the Stirling Station northern car park
    • Connect to Cedric Street using the existing signalised intersection
    • Route marked in blue in the map below.

  • Temporary southbound on-ramp: 6.00am Saturday 29 October 2022, (for approx. 9 months)
    • Access the entry on-ramp via the existing signalised intersection on Cedric Street, adjacent to the Stirling Station northern carpark
    • Follow the on-ramp loop around the Stirling Station northern car park to connect with the Mitchell Freeway southbound
    • Route marked in green in the map below.

The existing northbound on-ramp will not change. The switch will occur overnight, with Main Roads closing the existing on and off-ramps and opening the new roads at midnight prior to the above opening date.
