The City of Stirling is flying its flags at half-mast today to commemorate the funeral of Wadjak/Ballardong Elder Mrs Pamela (Pam) Yarran.

Aunty Pam shared her wealth of knowledge with the City of Stirling’s Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group since she become a member in 2018.

Since 1998, Aunty Pam had been a powerful advocate for reconciliation, advocating for change and educating communities across Western Australia.

Her passing will profoundly affect members of our local community, and the City is mourning with Wadjak Nyoongar people across Mooro Country.

Aunty Pam was a deeply compassionate woman who spent her life advocating for the community and championing reconciliation.

Her contribution towards reconciliation in the City and state will be a legacy that will live on far into the future.

The City will honour her contributions through our ongoing dedication to an inclusive community that acknowledges and celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and culture.
