Paw-some Day Out’s awesome su-paw-ters

29 September 2021

The City of Stirling is proud to announce and thank the awesome su-paw-ters and sponsors of the 2021 Paw-some Day Out.

The event is the City’s largest dog-friendly event, with over 50 stallholders showcasing the latest pet products and services, to promote responsible dog ownership – over 22,400 dogs are currently registered with the City – and increase animal education in the community.

Dog owners can have their pets registered, or microchipped for free on the day, as well as participate in a pet trick or treat trail, exciting competitions, a scare/jump-free haunted doghouse, free giveaways and much more.

Mayor Mark Irwin said it was important for people wishing to attend the event to ensure their pet is healthy and well hydrated.

“Paw-some Day Out is a massive event for both people and pooches, and we are thrilled to see planning for yet another successful event well underway,” he said.

“It is not every day that we get to celebrate ‘man’s best friend’ like this, and so together with our sponsors and su-paw-ters, we are looking forward to welcoming each and every healthy dog and their families to this event.”

Attendees are encouraged to take photos and videos of their experience with their furry friends at Paw-some Day Out. When posting to social media please remember to hash tag #cityofstirling and #pawsomedayout

Paw-some Day Out pet tips:

  • Find a pet-safe costume - Avoid costumes that don’t fit right as this could cause overheating, or costumes that have loose parts for safety reasons.
  • Remember the leash - All dogs must be on a leash at events. Even in an off-leash area, you are always required to carry a leash when out and about with your dog.
  • Be mindful of your pet’s needs - Pet-friendly treats can be tasty, but make sure your dog also drinks plenty of water to stay cool and comfortable.
  • Keep everyone safe - If your dog is unwell or is on medication that reduces their immunity, please stay home. The same applies to humans.
  • Ensure your dog’s vaccinations are up to date before attending – Help keep your precious pup happy and healthy by having your dog vaccinated.
  • This event is recommended for puppies 16 weeks and older and who are up to date on their vaccinations.

The event will be held on Sunday 31 October 2021, from 8.30am - 12.30pm at Carine Regional Open Space.
