Hamer Park and Inglewood Oval Sports Floodlighting Upgrade - Community Information

01 September 2020

As part of the City’s improvements to Hamer Park and Inglewood Oval, the upgrading of sports floodlighting to meet the Australian Standards for Sports Lighting (AS 2560) is now being progressed.

 The project scope includes:

  •  Installation of new sports floodlights (see attached plan) with Inglewood Oval and Hamer Park 1 delivered to 100/50 LUX switchable, and Hamer Park 2 delivered to 50 LUX only
  • Inclusion of community lighting which will enable improved use of the reserve for unstructured recreational users like dog walkers and runners
  • Conversion to LED lighting which consume less energy, last longer and minimise the impact of light spill when compared to older lighting technology
  • Pole height designed to decrease light spill and the broader impact to residents as the floodlights will be directed more vertically and minimise light spill.

It is anticipated that works will commence in October 2020 and be completed by January 2021.
