Support local by staying Home for Christmas

23 November 2020

The City of Stirling will come alive this Christmas with festive activations in Scarborough, Inglewood, Mount Lawley, Osborne Park, Doubleview and Mirrabooka throughout December.

With the focus to love supporting local, the City’s Home for Christmas campaign will include magical decorations, light projections, roving performers, augmented reality (AR), events and activities for all ages from 1-31 December.

Mayor Mark Irwin said there would be a new festive feel across the City of Stirling in 2020, with plenty of cheer for residents and visitors to enjoy at home this Christmas.

“The City of Stirling is hosting a series of festive activities to create stronger and more connected communities, including Scarborough, Inglewood, Mt Lawley, Osborne Park, Doubleview and Mirrabooka this Christmas,” the Mayor said.

“Whether it’s a magical AR adventure to rediscover your local centre, a photo with our walk-through sparkling star, impressive Christmas projections, the Shop Window Trail or our pop-up workshops to keep the kids entertained, Home for Christmas has something for everyone.

“We’ve repositioned our events season to provide localised community and business support through activations that will ensure our entertainment and visitor precincts come alive to celebrate the unique identities of each community.”

COVID-19 health and safety measures will be implemented at all City events to include physical distancing requirements, appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for staff and sanitation stations in high traffic areas. The City continues to monitor advice from the State Government and will implement all necessary recommendations.
