Australian Defence Force training

19 November 2020

The City of Stirling has been informed that the Australian Defence Force is conducting counter-terrorism training in the Perth area during late November 2020.

This will include helicopters flying at a low altitude at night and early in the morning and is part of the Australian Army’s regular training schedule.

The public should not be alarmed if they see or hear military helicopters, aircraft, watercraft, vehicles, unmanned aerial surveillance systems and military personnel carrying weapons during this time.

Blank ammunition and pyrotechnics will be used during some of the training.

The training is designed to ensure the Australian Defence Force is operating at the highest level of capability to respond where required, to support Australia’s national interests.

Individuals with concerns may contact the Australian Defence Force on 1300 333 362.
