Stirling wins sixth gold at Australasian Reporting Awards

16 June 2020

For the sixth consecutive year, the City of Stirling has won gold at the Australasian Reporting Awards (ARA) for its Annual Report.

After the accolades were announced earlier this month, the City of Stirling now holds the most Gold Awards of all Western Australian local governments.

The awards are designed to celebrate excellence in annual and financial reporting standards and have been presented for 70 years across government, businesses and not for profit sectors.

According to the ARA, a report must demonstrate overall excellence in annual reporting to receive a Gold Award and in achieving this it becomes a model report for similar organisations to follow.

“It should provide high quality coverage of most aspects of the ARA criteria and full disclosure of key aspects of the organisation’s core business,” said ARA Chair, Suresh Cuganesan.

While the Strategic Community Plan 2018-2028 and its supporting Corporate Business Plan form the vision for the City of Stirling, the Annual Report keeps the community informed of the organisation’s progress against these plans.

The 2018/19 Annual Report underwent a structural change when compared to previous years to further improve its alignment with the City’s Strategic Community Plan and Corporate Business Plan.

This suite of publications now presents the reader with a clear view of the City’s long term strategic intent, medium term planning and resourcing, and resultant performance, in a consistent and transparent manner.

A copy of the City’s Annual Report 2018/19 is available on the Annual reports and financial statements page.
