Scarborough Beach Pool back in the swim

05 June 2020

Maintenance works at Scarborough Beach Pool are almost complete and the popular facility will re-open to the public on Monday 8 June.

With many of the City’s facilities recently forced to close temporarily due to COVID-19 restrictions, it proved a timely opportunity to carry out essential works at the facility.

Under the State Government’s latest easing of restrictions to take effect from 6 June, up to 100 patrons per undivided space can access facilities, accommodating two square metres per person.

Change rooms and toilet facilities will be available at the venue.

From Monday, members are welcome to use Scarborough Beach Pool for free, as membership fees will remain suspended until Saturday 4 July 2020.

The venue will offer a modified aqua group fitness program, with land-based classes to begin later in June.

City of Stirling Mayor Mark Irwin said the reopening of iconic venues such as Scarborough Beach Pool – with the necessary restrictions – was a hugely encouraging sign for the community.

“It’s such a popular Scarborough destination that has become part of the everyday for a lot of people,” Mayor Mark Irwin said.

“With that in mind, we’ve been working to square away the maintenance so we can reopen safely and the outcome is that we’ll now avoid significant works disrupting access to Scarborough Beach Pool in the coming months as we welcome more patrons through our doors.”

Terry Tyzack Aquatic Centre and Leisurepark Balga are also open with some modified services.
