Project Information Sheet now available

24 July 2020

On Tuesday 28 July 2020, the City of Stirling Council will consider a large body of work that has been prepared with the big picture objective to attract more people and investment into the Mount Lawley Town Centre.

This work is known as the Mount Lawley Draft Streetscape Study and Draft Parking Management Plan. While this Plan and Study are being considered by Council next Tuesday they represent work and consultation that has been undertaken over a number of years.

The two documents work together to deliver short and long-term urban design and activation outcomes. We know that town centres that are well designed, accessible, safe and interesting perform better and with increasing investment occurring in Perth’s regional shopping centres and less money to spend by shoppers, competition for business has never been more fierce.

The preparation of the Streetscape Study and Parking Management Plan is just one way that the City is seeking to support our Beaufort Street local .

To assist you in understanding these projects, download the 'Mount Lawley information sheet' in useful documents which summarises the Streetscape Study and Parking Management Plan. You can also read the Council Report which is available here.

Subject to the outcome of the Council Meeting next Tuesday the Study and Plan provide the basis for significant investment in the Town Centre, commencing immediately in 2020/21.

Should you have any uncertainty around this project we would be happy to discuss any element of it with you either in phone or by person. You can contact the City’s Mount Lawley Place Activation officer on 9205 8872 or by emailing yoursay@stirling.wa.gov.au
