New home for Balga Friday Markets

30 October 2019

A local institution for close to 40 years, the Balga Friday Markets moves to a temporary home in Mirrabooka from this week.

The markets have relocated from its long-standing base at Princess Wallington Reserve in Balga because of upcoming construction works linked to the Princess Wallington Community Parkland project.

Always offering a huge variety of new and second hand items, the markets will be all systems go at Mirrabooka Open Space (next to Stirling Leisure Centres - Herb Graham Recreation Centre - Mirrabooka) on Fridays between 7.00am and 12.00noon from 1 November.

Sellers are required to arrive and queue (in order of arrival) at the rear of the Herb Graham carpark from 5.00am. All vehicles must be parked in the seller’s bay, or removed from the market site, prior to the opening of the markets at 7.00am.

The markets are run solely by volunteers, and the group donates all profits to local community groups.
