Free shuttle bus to the heart of Scarborough

22 March 2019

A free shuttle bus service to get market goers to and from Scarborough Beach is being trialled by the City of Stirling and CDS Bus Charters – a member of global transport group Comfort-Del-Gro.

The shuttle bus service, which launched on March 21, collects and drops off patrons heading to the Scarborough Sunset Markets, every 20 minutes between 5-9.30pm.

The specially marked bus will pick up patrons from the Trigg Car Park (next to Surfing WA headquarters) and drop them off just near the markets, outside the Scarborough Beach Pool, before making its way back to Trigg to start the route again.

City of Stirling Mayor Mark Irwin said it was a great way for locals and tourists to get to and from the popular event without the hassle of having to find a car park.

“The markets, which are run by the Scarborough Beach Association, have become one of WA’s most iconic beachside events so as you can imagine getting a park can be a bit tricky,” he said.

“The idea of this trial is to offer the community and patrons an alternative transport option so they have even more choice when they head to the markets on a Thursday night.”
