City Councillor recognised as leading business entrepreneur

City of Stirling Inglewood Ward Councillor Bianca Sandri has been recognised as one of the State’s leading business entrepreneurs at the Business News 40 Under 40 Awards, which were held last night.

The program recognises personal determination, commercial drive and philanthropic pursuits of young people who contribute to the welfare of Western Australia

Councillor Sandri was awarded the prestigious honour for co-founding a successful town planning firm, Urbanista Town Planning, at just 25 years of age, as well as her work on the City of Stirling Council and Tamala Park Regional Council and her contribution to the Town Team Movement.

Councillor Sandri said she felt privileged to receive the hotly contested award in the company of so many talented and successful young people.

“I joined Council to facilitate change and advocate for good built form and transparency in local government,” she said.

“So to be recognised for doing that has been a really exciting and humbling experience and has only amplified my commitment to pushing for thoughtful, community minded planning,” she said.

City of Stirling Mayor Mark Irwin said he was pleased to see Cr Sandri recognised for her achievements and contribution to the community.

“It’s great to see young people recognised for the great work they are doing, and the difference they are making in their chosen field.” Mayor Irwin said.

“Cr Sandri’s ability to adapt, along with her excellent people and technical planning abilities, have seen her excel in local government and small business at a young age and I know that she’ll continue make a big contribution to the field of town planning and the Stirling community into the future.”

Bio – Inglewood Ward Councillor Bianca Sandri

Cr Bianca Sandri graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Urban and Regional Planning) Honours degree and holds a number of business qualifications.

She co-founded the successful town planning firm, Urbanista Town Planning after gaining extensive experience in local government and currently serves as Councillor on the City of Stirling Council and the Tamala Park Regional Council.

Cr Sandri has also served as Past President of business network BNI Northern Synergy and is currently a Club Patron of Mount Lawley Tennis Club, Inglewood Bowls and Sportsman Club and Mount Lawley District Cricket Club.
