Get ready for the next Charity Clothing Drop-Off Day

03 December 2019

It’s time to round up all your unwanted clothes and donate them to the City’s upcoming Charity Clothing Drop-Off Day on Saturday 7 December 2019.

Along with clothing, you can also handover textiles (curtains, blankets), shoes, towels, bedding, accessories and jewelry, books, toys, DVDs/CDs and games.

The event will be held in the carpark of the City’s Administration Centre at 25 Cedric Street, Stirling from 9.00am to 3.00pm and will support the following charities:

  • Good Samaritan Industries
  • Anglicare WA
  • St Vincent de Paul
  • ParaQuad Industries
  • RSPCA
  • Australian Red Cross.

At the City’s previous drop-off day held in April, volunteers accepted an incredible 23 tonnes of donations.

Mayor Mark Irwin said the twice-yearly event was an excellent way for residents to show their support for local charities and to help divert waste from landfill.

“Our residents are very switched on when it comes to recycling and our previous drop-off days have been hugely successful thanks to their support,” Mayor Irwin said.

“Now is a great time of year to do a general clean-up at home in preparation for the festive period, and knowing that your donations will be helping others is a real bonus.”

The City has collected more than 90 tonnes of donated items from a series six collection days since 2016.
