01 April 2019

The City of Stirling, together with the City of Wanneroo and Drug Aware are proud to present Booka Beats Fest happening at Mirrabooka Regional Space on Thursday 18 April 2019 from 3.00pm to 7.30pm.

The festival boasts an awesome lineup of West Australian hip-hop and rap artists including Downsyde, Hyclass, DJ Rivaboi and T$oko and entry is free.

City of Stirling Mayor Mark Irwin said the alcohol, drug and smoke free event was a great way to celebrate youth week across the City.

“This is a great opportunity for young people across the City to catch up, connect and have fun in a safe environment,” Mayor Irwin said.

“It’s also a great way for us to provide important information to our younger community members through the Stirling Local Drug Action Team (SLDAT), who work to promote community connections and positive mental health in young men and women.”

SLDAT works in collaboration with a number of government and community organisations to tackle issues related to drug use and its impact on the community through a range of prevention strategies, such as festivals and events.

While Booka Beats is a youth event targeting (12 - 25 year olds), anyone from the community is free to attend.

Food and non-alcoholic drinks will be available to purchase on the day and there will be a water refill station on site.
