Activities for adults

Stirling Libraries host a variety of activities and groups for adults including book clubs and games clubs. For more information on an activity please view the events calendar or contact your local library. 

Though some programs are still suspended due to Covid-19, many programs have resumed with social distancing and enchanced cleaning practices in place. 

There may be limited places available and bookings may be required.

Book Club

Stirling Libraries host monthly BookChat book club meetings, where you can come and read, review and discuss.

About BookChat

  • BookChat members decide on the books to read
  • Supply of the book sets and discussion notes are coordinated.

Tax Help 2020

Tax Help is a network of ATO-trained and accredited community volunteers who provide a free and confidential service to help people complete their tax returns online using myTax. You may be eligible for the Tax Help program if your income is around $60,000 or less and you have simple tax affairs. To find out more about eligibility requirements, visit the ATO website.

Stirling Librarians are available for one-on-one sessions, to help you with basic computer and tech questions, such as internet searching, using the library catalogue, online resources and more!

English Conversation Group

If you want to improve your English and meet new people at the same time, come along and join one of our English Conversation Groups. 

  • Stirling Libraries - Osborne meet every Monday from 6.00pm - 7.00pm and every Thursday 10.00am - 11.00am.
  • Stirling Libraries - Scarborough meet every Tuesday from 6.00pm - 7.00pm.

No bookings required.

Youth English Conversation Group

If you want to improve your English and meet new friends at the same time.

Stirling Libraries - Mirrabooka runs a youth English conversation group every Thursday from 3.30pm to 4.30pm. No bookings required and afternoon tea is provided.

Recommended for ages 13 - 25 years.

Craft Club

Stirling Libraries - Dianella hosts a Night Knitters club which meets every second and fourth Thursday of the month from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. Bring along your knitting and enjoy a cuppa.

Crafters' Circle for Adults

Bring along your craft projects and join our crafters' group at Mirrabooka, Dianella and Karrinyup libraries.

  • Stirling Libraries - Dianella meets every Wednesday 1.30pm - 4.30pm
  • Stirling Libraries - Karrinyup meets every Tuesday 5.00pm - 6.45pm

Games Club

Learn Canasta 5 at Stirling Libraries - Dianella. This game can be played individually or in a partnership.
