Class types

Stirling Leisure Centres offer over 150 group fitness classes per week across three locations.

To avoid disappointment, please arrive 10 minutes before the class start time.

Aqua classes

Aqua classes are a low impact exercise which can increase your heart rate and provide resistance training. Some classes use additional equipment including OKEO resistance equipment and underwater steps. These classes are great for seniors, pregnant women, injury recovery and a safe way to get back into exercise.

  • Aqua - A water exercise class in the 25m-lap pool, offering great stability and buoyancy as well as an excellent workout for all fitness levels
  • Aqua HIIT- High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is an evidence based approach to training which balances work and rest cycles to provide a challenging session. The exercise focus is whole body, and is perfect for participants od all fitness levels, who’re seeking a challenge
  • Aqua Step- Low impact step exercises in the heated indoor pool, increasing your heart rate and providing resistance training
  • Hydro Aqua- A slow paced water exercise class in the warm program pool. A low intensity class, perfect for those looking for a gentle workout
  • Hydro Aqua Pilates - An enjoyable & calming way to re-energise your day while strengthening muscles, and improving your posture, flexibility and balance using the natural resistance of the water. Suitable for everyone, whatever your injuries, physical condition or fitness level
  • Deep Blue - Deep water class tailored to all fitness levels to strengthen and increase cardiovascular health with the weightlessness of water

  • Deep HIIT - Deep water high intensity class combining interval training and aquatic resistance for maximum fat-burning and metabolism-boosting benefits.

Boxing circuit

A non-contact high intensity fitness circuit. Designed for improving fitness, speed, strength and muscle conditioning. No boxing experience necessary.

Box Fit

A non-contact high intensity boxing-for-fitness class. Designed to improve fitness, speed, strength and muscle conditioning. No boxing experience necessary.

Core30

30-minute core conditioning providing all the ingredients for a stronger body and reduced waist line.

Fit & Fifty

Designed for the over-fifties. Low impact aerobics to promote functional movement and improve flexibility and balance. Classes vary between spin, weight sessions and stretch classes.

Good Vibes

Get the good vibes and energy to start your day with a full body workout designed to help your weight loss and tone in your body. Whatever your training goal or training history, we can assist to equip you with the skills to unlock your bodies potential.

Gym circuit

Gym circuit is a small group educational training circuit for all levels, with our personal trainers in the gym.

Hatha yoga

A general category that includes most yoga styles. It is a system that involves the practice of asanas (yoga postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises). This helps to bring peace to the mind and body, preparing for deeper spiritual practices such as meditation.

High intensity interval training (HIIT)

HIIT involves short, intense bursts of exercise working to your own fitness level. It’s an efficient workout giving maximum fat-burning and metabolism-boosting benefits.

Lengthen and stretch

Focusing on slow deep movements and holding stretches for long periods of time. The class incorporates pilates, yin yoga and dynamic stretches. Suitable for all levels.

Les Mills® classes

Les Mills® is a world leader in group fitness classes. Classes target every fitness and workout style, from weight bearing exercises to cardio workouts and martial arts-style. Les Mills® moves and music are kept up-to-date with quarterly launches of new choreography to motivating music. Ask your instructor for launch details.

Les Mills BodypumpUsing light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, BODYPUMP™ gives you a total body workout. A barbell workout for anyone looking to get lean, toned and fit - fast.
Les Mills BodyattackA high-energy fitness class with moves that cater for all. Combining athletic movements like running and jumping with strength exercises such as push-ups and squats.

This high-energy martial-arts inspired workout is totally non-contact and there are no complex moves to master. You’ll punch & kick your way to fitness.
Les Mills Body Balance

Ideal for anyone and everyone, BODYBALANCE™ is the yoga-based class that will improve your mind & your body. Simple yoga moves & elements of Tai Chi and Pilates.

Les Mills  CXWORX 

A 30-minute core workout, trained instructors guide you through correct technique with resistance tubes, weight plates, as well as body weight exercises. Exercising muscles around the core, CXWORX™ provides the vital ingredient for a stronger body. 
Les Mills RPM - RPM™A group indoor cycling workout where you control the intensity. It’s fun, low impact and burns calories.

Metafit

A style of HIIT designed to boost your fitness in 30 minutes. Get massive results in the shortest amount of time possible. It creates a metabolic disturbance, which increases your resting metabolic rate and maximises fat-burning.

MetaPWR

A 30-minute circuit class using explosive, plyometric and body weight exercises, and resistance equipment such as ropes, kettle bells and sandbags. Using HIIT training, MetaPWR enhances motor unit recruitment and optimises increased calorie burn.

Mums’ fitness

Great cardiovascular class which includes everything you need to get fit. Classes consist of boxing, weight training and cardiovascular exercise.

Pilates

Improve your flexibility, strength and endurance in the entire body. Emphasis on alignment, breathing, developing a strong core also improving coordination and balance.

Power Yoga

A mix of Lyengar and Ashtanga yoga. Focusing on agility and strength. This class moves quickly and makes you feel energized.

Power Fitness

With plyometric and strengthening moves this class will build your body with power while toning it up. The class offers frequent bouts of athletic inspired movements, which will ignite your metabolism, and accelerate your cardiovascular fitness!

Senior fitness

It's never too late to get fit and do the things you thought you would never do. This class consists of boxing, weight work and exercises.​

Spin classes

Self-paced indoor cycling classes to motivating music, targeting cardio endurance and leg strength. Combine spin with boxing or weights and you get a great full body workout. 

Spin | Spin/Box

A 55-min Class - combines Spin & Boxing utilising boxing gloves, pads and spin bikes. Two great cardio workouts in one.

Spin and ab blitz

A 45-minute, self-paced indoor cycling class targeting cardio endurance and leg strength. Combine this with a 15-minute ab workout for a full body blitz.

Strength 30

A 30-minute whole-body conditioning class, challenging your cardiopulmonary system with frequent bouts of short athletics-inspired movements.

Step and burn

Great cardiovascular workout using step aerobics. It incorporates squats and lunges to strengthen and shape butts and thighs. Classes vary week-to-week to get a full body workout.

Step and box

A great cardiovascular fitness class combining freestyle step moves with boxing. An enjoyable class for all fitness levels.

Strength & Tone

Weight based training to build strength and muscle endurance, aiming to lift heavier weights and build lean, toned muscle. This class will push you out of your comfort zone.

Superset Madness

Resistance training and strength programming are essential for all fitness goals regardless of your age. Our superset sessions are structured workouts, which will develop your confidence and understanding of exercise execution, volume, intensity and resting timing with many variations.

TeenFit

Get fit, active and strong with a fun and active class for teens. This is a structured group training session with our Personal Trainers, which will guide and deliver the tools to lead a healthier lifestyle.

Tai Chi

Slow and low impact movement suited for those who want to increase their lower body muscle tone and bone density. This has a positive impact on balance, fall prevention and mobility.

Yoga

Practice of posture (asana) with emphasis on detail, precision and alignment . You will gain flexibility & stability. Learn the basics of meditation and stress management.
