Glory teams up with Foodbank for Charity Game

22 March 2023

Football fans from across the City of Stirling will have the opportunity to give generously to some of the most vulnerable members of our community in the lead-up to the final Perth Glory game at Macedonia Park on Saturday 1 April.

The City, Stirling Macedonia Football Club and Perth Glory Football Club are teaming up with Foodbank WA to call on residents and club supporters to give generously to the ‘Let’s Feed Change’ appeal.

Foodbank WA receives approximately 30 new referrals for help every day, and provides food and groceries, as well as nutrition education to promote healthy eating and advocacy on behalf of people who experience food stress.

According to Foodbank WA, one in three households experienced food stress last year, and one in five households are experiencing severe food stress, meaning they skipped meals or sometimes didn’t eat for 24 hours.

Residents and fans can donate or deliver non-perishable food items directly to the club on game day, 1 April, or anytime by calling (08) 9463 3239.

Financial donations are also welcome, with every one dollar raised meaning Foodbank can provide two meals to those in need.

From November 2022 – April 2023, the City was proud to host 19 matches as part of the Perth Glory Summer Series within the City of Stirling at Macedonia Park, bringing a high calibre of sport to the neighbourhood.
