City of Stirling event

Register now

The event is an opportunity to: Meet your neighbours and build a sense of community Improve the appearance of your street and add value to your property Help make your street and suburb a greener and more liveable place Learn more about planting trees and how to care for them Learn how to compost leaves at the leaf composting workshop* after tree planting.

RSVP INFO

Don’t miss out! Make sure you RSVP to sign-up to this Community Tree Planting Event. If you are a resident who has a street tree planned for the verge alongside your property, don't forget to select "after-care pack" - by participating, you are eligible for an after-care pack for the new trees. The pack includes soil conditioner and fertiliser, soil wetter, a drink bottle, a bucket, a kids activity booklet, a bottle of hand sanitiser and more. Participation can be as much as assisting to plant the tree, or as little as coming out when the volunteers are planting and name the tree (we provide tree tags so residents are able to name trees). A free sausage sizzle and leaf composting workshop* will be available to participants after tree planting, another great reason to RSVP!

EVENT INFO

Don't worry, you won't have to dig any holes, the City will do that! The tree planting is done by you, the volunteers and residents, by working in teams alongside a volunteer Tree Captain. The Tree Captains guide you to the trees that need planting and demonstrate the tree planting process. The City recommends you bring your own gardening gloves, wear closed-in shoes, a hat and sunscreen. On arrival to the event, volunteers and residents will be asked to register and an induction will be carried out prior to tree planting activities. This is a family friendly event, however, please ensure children are supervised at all times during planting activities (although there will be traffic management in place, tree planting takes place on the road side).
