Benefits of walking

For more information, visit the Heart Foundation Walking website.

Walking for an average of 30 minutes a day can lower the risk of heart disease, stroke, and diabetes by 30 to 40 per cent. Plus, walking regularly has been proven to:

  • Manage weight, blood pressure and cholesterol
  • Reduce your risk of developing some cancers
  • Maintain your bone density, reducing your risk of osteoporosis and fractures
  • Improve balance and coordination, reducing your risk of falls and other injuries.

To register and keep up-to-date, visit the Scarborough Community Hub Walking group page.

Meet at Stirling Community Centres - Scarborough next to the Library.
