2023 ICF Canoe Ocean Racing World Championships
This three day globally recognised event will be the first time held in the Southern Hemisphere, let alone Perth.
One of the biggest drawcards to host this event in Perth was the famous Fremantle Doctor (afternoon sea breeze) which creates perfect downwind paddle conditions. With the wind behind them, they can reach speeds of over 30km/h.
The City and Scarborough Beach are the host of the Athlete’s Hub for the event duration, and finish line for the 20km ocean paddle race from Fremantle on Thursday 30 November and Saturday 2 December.
These World Championships follow on from The Doctor paddle race held one week prior.

Please note that race times will be confirmed on race day via Paddle Australia’s Facebook page.
