We encourage our employees to assist in recognising potential hazards that may exist in the workplace and will taking practical steps to maintain a safe and healthy environment.

We endeavour to develop a culture of hazard identification, injury prevention and general occupational safety and health (OSH) awareness. To achieve this, the City will:

  • Consult with employees and management by means of the OSH Committee, risk assessments and hazard identification
  • Providing appropriate information and instruction in relation to OSH matters in the workplace
  • Enforce OSH regulations by delegating accountability and responsibility for each OSH role within workplace
  • Identify OSH issues through safety checks
  • Provide employees with policies and procedures in safe systems of work, including returning to work
  • Comply with current legislation and best practice.
