School Food Gardens

A number of schools in the City of Stirling have educational food gardens, or kitchen gardens. The factsheet below lists only the school gardens that have received support from the City during the Community Food Garden Grant Program, but there are many more in the City.

Waste Wise Schools Program

The Waste Authority's Waste Wise Schools Program is aimed to assist Primary and Secondary schools in WA with educational strategies for reducing waste to landfill while developing positive environmental values in students and the whole school community.

By becoming an accredited Waste Wise School you will have access to free incursions, grant funding for Waste Wise projects, and ongoing support from the Waste Wise team at the Waste Authority.

Waste Education and Excursions

The Mindarie Regional Council (MRC) provides incursions and excursions for school groups of all ages, information and assistance for school recycling programs, and a school battery recycling program. Most services are free for schools within the City of Stirling.

The MRC also run the Nude Your Food Program about reducing waste in school lunchboxes.
