Transition Town Stirling is a community group based in the City of Stirling and surrounds. It's purpose is to reconnect community with the common goal of sharing knowledge for living more sustainably.For information about their upcoming events visit their website or the Stirling Farmers Markets first Sunday of each month.Responsible Cafes ProgramThe City of Stirling invites cafes within the City to be a part of the Responsible Cafes Program a growing movement Australia wide. The program aims to connect cafes to environmentally conscious consumers and help reduce the waste generated by takeaway cups and lids. Participating cafes offer their customers a discount or incentive to bring their own reusable takeaway cup and are then promoted by the Responsible Cafes Program and the City of Stirling.Cafe Managers and Owners Interested in being part of the program? Adults and children enjoyed gardening and DIY workshops, local entertainers and musicians, bush walks in Star Swamp, and browsing through over 50 marquees of local small businesses and not-for-profit organisations.the 2017 event is in the planning stages.
