Save on your Electricity and Gas Bills​

The City is offering free Energy Audits to residents and Not-for-profit organisations based within the City of Stirling.​

A 90 minute audit is conducted by an energy saving expert who will provide a personalised energy action plan at no charge.

This offer is available until 19 March 2017 or until all spaces have been allocated.

Transition Town Stirling's Events

This proactive community group meets regularly and runs a variety of free or low cost community events including movie nights, and workshops for home and garden including sewing, cooking and gardening. Transition Town Stirling is a community group based in the City of Stirling and surrounds. It's purpose is to reconnect community with the common goal of sharing knowledge for living more sustainably.

Responsible Cafes ProgramResponsible Cafes program poster

The City of Stirling invites cafes within the City to be a part of the Responsible Cafes Program a growing movement Australia wide. The program aims to connect cafes to environmentally conscious consumers and help reduce the waste generated by takeaway cups and lids. Participating cafes offer their customers a discount or incentive to bring their own reusable takeaway cup and are then promoted by the Responsible Cafes Program and the City of Stirling.

Groat Street Festival

The second Groat Street Festival, held on Saturday 24 October 2015 in North Beach, was a great success with attendance reaching 5,000-6,000 - doubling last year! Adults and children enjoyed gardening and DIY workshops, local entertainers and musicians, bush walks in Star Swamp, and browsing through over 50 marquees of local small businesses and not-for-profit organisations.

the 2017 event is in the planning stages. The event organisers, transitions Town Stirling are looking for volounteers to help make the event possible. Please visit the Groat Street Festival Facebook page or website for more information.

Many of the community garden's in the City host a variety of events including composting demonstrations, worm farming workshops, chook keeping presentations, seed saving and more. Contact the gardens for more information:
