About the Community Tree Planting Program

The Community Tree Planting Program aims to:

  • Encourage participation of local residents, families, community groups, schools and businesses in Community Tree Planting Events across the City
  • Create cooler and more attractive streetscapes
  • Help foster a sense of community pride and ownership of streetscapes
  • Spread the word about the many benefits of street trees to our wellbeing.

Community Tree Planting Events

Community Tree Planting Events will be held on Saturdays between late May and August from 9.00am to 11.30 am and are followed by a sausage sizzle for participants.

These events rely heavily on the support of local residents and volunteers.

We invite you, your friends and family to attend your local event or to join the Program by becoming a Volunteer Tree Captain, or Volunteer Tree Planter.
