Find out more about the program. The City Of Stirling’s Cultural and Recreation Departments have joined forces to form a monthly under-18 basketball event that allows talented and energetic youth to show off their skills (in both sports and entertainment) in a fun, safe and social atmosphere. ‘Beatball’ is an Aboriginal and multicultural 3-on-3 basketball competition held on the last Friday of each month. The Herb Graham Recreation Centre was selected to host these events because of its new wood-sprung flooring, air conditioning, new backboards and an abundance of staff and volunteers who are as keen and motivated as the youth themselves. All youth aged 6 to 17 are invited to form teams. Each event includes several 15-minute games in a ‘round robin’ knock-out format. Food and entertainment is also provided as part of the program—including DJ sets and dance performances, making it a great opportunity for the youth to network and socialise. Entry for players is a gold coin donation.
