The City of Stirling supports not-for-profit organisations in running arts and cultural activities and events through the Cultural Development Fund.

Cultural Development FundAbout the Cultural Development Fund

Arts and events form an essential part of our community. The Cultural Development Fund aims to provide not-for-profit community organisations with access to funding and in-kind support to assist in the coordination of events and projects within the City of Stirling that foster culture and the arts, as well as contribute to community capacity building, community health and wellbeing, and the development of community spirit.

Projects and events must directly benefit the City of Stirling community and take place in the City of Stirling.

There are three levels funding available:

Level 1: Flagship Events/Projects

Funding Range: $10,001 - $20,000 (ex GST)

  • Events/Projects that attract significant attendance numbers or have a broad reach, contribute to long term cultural and arts development, and/or deliver social and/or economic value to the community.
  • Applications must be submitted by 1 June for events taking place from the following August to July, or alternately by 1 November for events taking place from January to July of the following year. 

Level 2: Community Events/Projects

Funding Range: $5,001 - $10,000 (ex GST)

  • Community events/projects that are accessible to a wide cross section of the community. Events should foster culture and the arts, promote community involvement, and/or contribute to community capacity building.

Level 3: Cultural Development Projects and Small Events

Funding Range: up to $3,000 (ex GST)

  • Small events/projects with a strong arts/cultural development focus that will benefit the community and achieve cultural development outcomes. Participant numbers need not be substantial.

Level 2 and 3 Applications close eight (8) weeks prior to the event/project start date, and will be accepted from 10 July 2017 to 31 May 2018 for events running from August 2017 to July 2018.  

 

Who can apply?

  • Incorporated and not-for-profit organisations not including schools and school P&C associations
  • Groups or individuals auspiced by an incorporated/not-for-profit organisation
