Get ready to celebrate nature, community and the great outdoors at NatureFest 2026, a free family-friendly festival taking place at Henderson Environmental Centre, North Beach, on Saturday 24 October 2026. Formerly known as Biodiversity Open Day, NatureFest is nature's big day out! Bringing together wildlife experiences, guided nature walks, hands-on activities, local environmental organisations, art and community connection, it's a fantastic day of discovery for all ages. Join us for a full day of nature-based activities, expert advice, family fun and opportunities to connect with your local environment.
Festival highlights
Guided Nature Walks
Explore the unique plants, wildlife and cultural heritage of Star Swamp Reserve:
- Friends of Star Swamp guided walks at 8.00am and 10.30am
- Noongar cultural walks with Justin from Djurandi Dreaming at 9.30am and 11.00am.
Wildlife Experiences
Meet some amazing native animals and learn about conservation through interactive displays from:

- WA Birds of Prey Centre.

Explore the grounds of the Henderson Environmental Centre
While you're visiting, take time to explore the newly enhanced grounds, including:
- Habitat structures installed as part of a demonstration Waterwise garden project delivered in partnership with Water Corporation and Perth NRM
- Educational signage showcasing local biodiversity
- Repurposed timber benches handcrafted by the Stirling Men's Shed
- Intricate log carvings by local artist Daniel Iley.
