Volunteering at Stirling

Volunteers provide the vital link in contributing to the provision of essential services for frail aged people and residents with disabilities within the City of Stirling.

Volunteers contribute a wealth of skills, experience and time. Their dedication is well recognised and respected by the City of Stirling and the community as a whole.

Volunteering is an activity that benefits the community as well as the volunteer and should always be a matter of choice. Training provides volunteers with the necessary skills and knowledge to undertake their role confidently and without risk.

Volunteering should not incur a cost to the volunteer and all authorised expenditure will be reimbursed. Insurance is provided to all volunteers for personal injury, loss of income and motor vehicle cover. Sound risk management strategies are in place to protect the safety and wellbeing of the volunteers and clients.

Volunteers along with staff, are recognised members of a team and are encouraged to contribute ideas and have input toward the service provision.

The following volunteer roles are available at the City of Stirling:

  • Meals on Wheels
  • Books on Wheels
  • Adult Day Centres
  • Group Transport
