Garden Waste
All the green waste collected during the verge collections is recycled.

To recycle garden waste at any time choose one of the following options:

  • Compost the smaller materials or use a worm farm. For more information on worm farms click here.
  • Take it to the Recycling Centre Balcatta (without a valid tip pass a fee will apply - see below).

You can utilise your one tip pass for free disposal of garden waste at the Recycling Centre Balcatta.

For more information and conditions click here.

Without a valid tip pass, a fee will apply (based on the 'pay by weight' policy) at the Recycling Centre Balcatta as the City has to pay transport and processing costs. (If the garden waste is contaminated with junk it will be classed as mixed waste and a higher fee will be charged to dispose of this non-recyclable waste).
