Attending Council Meetings

The Council of the City of Stirling consists of the 14 elected Councillors sitting as one body, with the Mayor as chairperson. Council is the policy and decision making body for the City, and meets at 7.00pm on the first and third Tuesday of every month. The Chief Executive Officer and the Executive Managers of the City's five divisions also attend Council meetings to assist the Councillors with information as required.

The Council meetings follow a formal written agenda, which sets out the order and details of business to be discussed. A large part of Council meetings is taken up with discussing and deciding on recommendations from the Committee meetings. Once agreed to by Council these recommendations are implemented by the City’s officers.
