Words, Wine & Song with Brisbane Author Nick Earls
The Sunday Times Big Book Club and Stirling Libraries invites you to meet and hear best-selling author Nick Earls promote his new novel The True Story of Butterfish about a burnt out rock legend who tries to blend back into the suburbs, but fails.
Nick Earls is the author of twelve books, including international bestselling novels such as Zigzag Street, Bachelor Kisses, Perfect Skin and World of Chickens. Five of his novels - like 48 Shades of Brown and After January - have teenage main character and are written for a YA audience.
Many of his novels have won awards and many have become successful stage and screen adaptions. The stage production of The True Story of Butterfish will premiere in Brisbane in October and marks Nick Earls' debut as a playwright.

Fantastic Fiction Events
We had the last of our Fantastic Speculative Fiction events in June with our wonderful time travel panel demonstrating the links between time-travel and quantum physics; how the idea of time travel has evolved and the conundrums of writing timetravel fiction. A Speculative Fiction reading list based on our four speakers will be posted on this website soon for those wanting to read more in this genre.
Our next Fantastic Fiction series will be focused on Crime Fiction or Fact with special guest Estelle Blackburn to launch this genre focus in August. So stay tuned for more details or subscribe to our Library E.Vibes for monthly event teasers to your email.
