$5000 Acquisitive First Prize
Winner: Bevan Griggs Artwork Title: "Bins and Graffiti"
Judges Comments: A strong graphic, detailed rendering, bold, in your face, captivating image of all the icons we love to hate.
$1000 Local Artists Award
Winner: Julie Silvester Artwork Title "Salt Lake Splendour"
Judges Comments:Sweeping dynamic composition - a vastness combined with a beautiful detailed texture. The composition allows several different ways to view the work.
$700 Edith Cowan University Young Artists Award (aged 16 - 25 years)
Winner: Nadine Jaeger Artwork Title: "Self Portrait"
Judges Comments: Lovely marks, the artist knows their medium well with a lovely control of the medium.
$300 Junior Artists Award (aged 10 - 15 years)
Winner: Madeleine Palmer Artwork Title"Untitled"
Judges Comments: For a young artist this is an accomplished painting especially considering the scale of the work.
$500 Karrinyup Shopping Centre People's Choice Award
Winner: Nelson Franco Artwork Title "Waves"
$500 West Coast Picture Framers Drawing/Works on Paper Award
Winner: Mugurel Barbelescu Artwork Title "I Draw, Therefore I'm"
Judges Comments: Bold graphic shapes combined with sensitive detailed mark making provide contrast and tension.
$500 Tayha Designs Jewellery Award
Winner: Annette Ellson Artwork Title "Out of the Ashes"
Judges Comments: Beautifully presented, strong conceptualisation and material use and techniques. Lovely design.
$500 Oil/Acrylic Award
Winner: Vicki Sangster Artwork Title: Hidden Secrets
Judges Comments: Lovely, beautifully composed work with a realistic rendering. Well balanced composition contrasting the painted imagery against the industrial has created a strong narrative.
$500 Print Media Award
Winner: Brendan O'Leary Artwork Title: cnokonhar cyka
Judge Comments: Sense of humour and playfulness between the dog and background. Technically well done.
$500 Sculpture Award
Winner: Benjamin Kovacsy Artwork Title: Offcuts
Judges Comments: Beautifully made, inquistiive quality, detailed.
$500 Barrett Displays Textiles Award
Winner: Julia Sutton Artwork Title: Fred Williams Old Camp Stretcher
Judges Comments: Raw energy, deliberate use of limited colour palette, evocative, subtle, sensitive use of materials.
$500 Watercolour Award
Winner: Gail Leidich Artwork Title: Around Town
Judges Comments: Compositionally and tonally beautiful, controlled use of technique combined with a looseness. The essence of the this everyday image is captured perfectly, it's not overworked and beautifully framed.
Each category winner also received a $50 gift card courtesy of Karrinyup Shopping Centre.
